Gecodor participates in Legambiente’s ecological day in Grumento Nova (PZ) – Regione Basilicata: a small gesture for a big change.
Commitment to the environment is a choice that is renewed every day. Once again this year, Gecodor confirmed its commitment to the environment by joining Legambiente’s Park Litter initiative, dedicated to protecting the land and raising awareness of the issue of abandoned waste.
On Monday, July 7, part of our team took part in the ecological day held in Grumento Nova (Potenza), with enthusiasm, determination and a sense of responsibility. It was an experience that was a natural continuation of the journey started last year in Lido Azzurro and confirmed our desire to be active agents of change.
The day opened under the clear skies of the Lucanian countryside, among dirt paths, green expanses and less visible corners that, unfortunately, too often become receptacles for waste. With gloves and sacks, the Gecodor team helped clear the area of plastic, glass, metals and other waste, restoring cleanliness and dignity to an area that deserves respect and attention, for a total of material collected of 28 kg of glass, 53 kg of undifferentiated waste, 12 kg of plastic, two televisions and two car tires.
This was not just a symbolic gesture. For Gecodor, sustainability is not an abstract concept but an integral part of corporate identity. It means reducing environmental impact, promoting recycling, optimizing resources and, above all, educating and raising awareness. Our full agreement with Legambiente’s values drives us to actively engage in occasions like this, where sustainability takes real form. In fact, participating in days like the one in Grumento Nova means getting personally involved, strengthening our connection with the territory and consolidating the values that guide our daily work: respect, collaboration, care, awareness.
Great satisfaction with the experience was expressed by the Administrator of Gecodor Holding, Eng. Gaetano D’Oronzio: “We at Gecodor firmly believe that business has not only an economic responsibility, but also a social and environmental one,” he declares. “We are convinced that every gesture, even the simplest, can contribute to building a healthier and fairer future. Our heartfelt thanks go to Legambiente for their constant commitment, to the volunteers who have collaborated with us and, above all, to all Gecodor colleagues who have participated with enthusiasm, energy and spirit of service. We hope,” he concludes, “that this is just one of many pieces in a journey of active citizenship that continues to grow. Because change starts here: from small gestures, from good practices, from people.”
