On Wednesday, July 9, the Gecodor team had an extraordinary experience: a day of team building in Colobraro, one of the most charming and authentic villages in Basilicata, nestled in the Lucanian hills in the province of Matera.
Colobraro welcomed us with its unique atmosphere of wind caressing the ancient alleys, breathtaking views and glimpses that seem to come straight out of a story. In this setting full of charm and identity, we rediscovered the pleasure of sharing time and discoveries, strengthening the bonds of our group through direct contact with the history and culture of the area.
The visit began at the majestic medieval castle that towers over the village: a building that speaks of a past rich in noble and defensive events, and that today gives a spectacular vantage point over the valley below. Next, we entered the village, strolling through its cobbled streets, hidden little squares, carved stone portals and panoramic overlooks that seem suspended between heaven and earth.
We then reached the Capuchin monastery, a place of great peace and charm, perfect for a moment of collective reflection. But the discoveries did not end there: we also visited the historic Mother Church, with its sober and solemn interior, and the house museum that tells the story of rural life in the last century, restoring dignity and memory to the traditions of the place.
The convivial moment was equally memorable. At the table we savored the gastronomic excellence of Basilicata: artisanal cured meats, local cheeses, homemade bread, crunchy peperoni cruschi, and typical dishes prepared with genuine ingredients and passion. It was a true journey into flavors, where each dish represented an opportunity for sharing and good humor.
But what really made this experience special was the magic that is everywhere in Colobraro. A magic that has nothing to do with spells or dark mysteries, but which stems from the deep identity of the village: a unique mix of history, nature, silence and handed-down traditions. It is that feeling you get when the wind blows hard and seems to tell you a story, when the alleys seem to live a life of their own, when beauty manifests itself spontaneously, without the need for special effects. Colobraro is a place that ignites the imagination, stimulates curiosity and invites you to listen, even to yourself.
Colobraro gave us an intense, beautiful and surprising day in which nature, culture and human relationships were authentically intertwined. But, above all, it left us with something invisible and precious: a form of magic that we take back to our company.
It is the magic of collaboration that arises spontaneously, of feeling part of something bigger, of trust built step by step. It is that lightness that makes you look at a colleague with new eyes, that wind that drives you to give more, that feeling of belonging, really, to a group united by common values.
From Colobraro we return with wonderful images in our eyes, intense flavors in our hearts and a new energy in our hands. And with the knowledge that, even in everyday work, there is room for a little bit of magic.
